Full time Architect Technology Jobs

Job Description

Arm’s Sophia Antipolis centre is located in one of the most beautiful parts of France, at the heart of Europe’s largest and most dynamic technology park. Surrounded by mountains and the Mediterranean Sea, this unique centre has delivered leading products from Arm. You can be part of this growing and innovative hub.

The Systems Architecture and Technology Group is responsible for exploring future technologies to design next-generation extensions to the Arm architecture. In this role, you will carry out investigations on a broad range of development platforms, software models, system simulators and production code. This often involves developing hardware/software prototypes and models not yet available to the general public – typically 3-5 years before these systems are released as commercial products by Arm partners.

Would you like to join Arm at a time of transformation in our industry?

As a member of a small and dynamic team, you will be working alongside technology experts across Arm, contributing to the development of both hardware and software components, and crafting the future of Arm Intellectual property (IP).

Key Accountabilities:

Working in the Architecture and Technology systems architecture group:

  • You will design and develop prototypes to analyse the performance of future Arm architectures
  • You will perform system-level modelling investigations to drive technical decisions across a broad spectrum of features, including hardware, software and system architecture
  • You will build a detailed understanding of system hardware features and capabilities, software components and use-case requirements
  • You will develop system modelling flows and component models in system simulator environments.
  • You will play an essential role in helping Arm develop next-generation technologies in areas like computer vision, machine learning, networking and security, guided by quantitative investigation and experienced understanding of the markets we serve

Job Requirements

You should have knowledge and skills in several of the following areas:

  • Good system expertize in one of the domains: visual compute, image processing, machine learning
  • Good programming skills in at least C or C++
  • Good grounding in computer architecture fundamentals (including instruction sets, memory subsystems, etc.)
  • Dedicated and self-motivated
  • Demonstrate strong communication skills.
  • Willingness to be flexible and accept new challenges

It would be useful if you have experience in one or more of:

  • Personal project work and/or contributions to open source projects
  • Experience/project work related to low-level software (e.g., device drivers, operating systems, compilers, microcontroller projects)
  • Independent research experience

At Arm, we are guided by our core beliefs that reflect our unique culture and guide our decisions, defining how we work together to defy ordinary and shape extraordinary:

We not I

  • Take daily responsibility to make the Global Arm community thrive
  • No individual owns the right answer. Brilliance is collective
  • Information is crucial, share it
  • Realise that we win when we collaborate — and that everyone misses out when we don’t

Passion for progress

  • Our differences are our strength. Widen and mix up the pool of people you connect with
  • Difficult things can take unexpected directions. Stick with it
  • Make feedback positive and expansive, not negative and narrow
  • The essence of progress is that it can’t stop. Grow with it and own your own progress

Be your brilliant self

  • Be quirky not egocentric
  • Recognise the power in saying ‘I don’t know’
  • Make trust our default position
  • Hold strong opinions lightly
