Our client is a leading Corporate, Tax and Business Advisory Firm well established in the local market

Job Responsibilities and Duties

  • Act as a central point of contact for all information on compliance-related issues (e.g. breach of regulation, non-respect of procedures, conflict of interest)
  • Establish the basis on which a risk-based approach to the prevention of money laundering/terrorist financing is put into practice and review the approach on a regular basis
  • Develop and implement an effective compliance program monitoring programme
  • Overseeing the maintenance of CDD/KYC/AML/CTF policies and procedures and act as Money Laundering Reporting Officer (MLRO)
  • Responsible for all AML reporting requirements to the FIAU
  • Periodically audit processes, practices and documents to identify weaknesses, and creating sound internal controls to monitor adherence to same
  • Ensure that adequate arrangements are in place for the awareness and training of employees regarding AML/CFT policies and procedures
  • Provide guidance to the compliance team on the day-to-day implementation of AML/CFT policies, and respond promptly to any reasonable request for information made by the FIAU or any other law enforcement bodies
  • Ongoing review of all legislative, regulatory and corporate governance developments or changes that might affect the company and its operations and where applicable disseminate this information within the advisory team
  • Liaising with external regulators on compliance related matters and ensuring all compliance reports are submitted promptly and accurately to them
  • Maintenance of compliance file
  • Act as the company’s focal point in relation to the submissions and correspondence with MFSA


  • 3+ years' experience in senior management roles in a regulated financial services entity / corporate services entity or at least 5 years' experience in a Risk or Risk-related function
  • Previously held the position of MLRO for a financial services entity (preferably a corporate services entity) and is well versed with the internal and external obligations and reporting requirements pertaining to the MLRO function
