The Retail Services & Legal Affairs Department is dealing with all aspects of Tipico’s franchise business. The department is responsible for Contract Management, Accounting & Billing, Risk Management, and Legal & Regulatory Affairs relating to our retail business. It issues contracts to Tipico’s franchise partners and is supervising all related franchisee activities including shop licencing, invoicing, commission calculation, payment behaviour, transaction risk assessment with Tipico’s terms and conditions as well as enforcing our AML and KYC policies within the retail business

Job Description

The Team Lead Retail Billing is the key responsible in Malta for retail operations of billing, accounting, reporting and controls. You manage the team which is responsible for the franchise partner’s billing and accounting.

What you will do : 

  • Provide leadership and support to all staff within the department and encourage the implementation of best practice
  • People management including mentoring and developing team members to reach their full potential
  • Participate in the recruitment and interviewing process
  • Exhibit positive role model behaviour ensuring an environment that promotes an open culture, fosters teamwork and enables continuous development
  • Coordinate and supervise the general accounting and clerical duties of franchise-partners
  • Managing accounting functions including maintenance of general ledger, accounts receivable, loans, deposits and payment of commissions
  • Assure franchise-partner billing and data management
  • Handle and manage processes, projects and the team with a flexible mindset and group approach
  • Implement and coordinate analysis and reporting regarding shop performance and partner profitability to the Head of Department and management
  • Coordinate with other stakeholders in Malta and other locations
  • Enhancement and optimization of retail processes, especially regarding the current billing process and reporting structure


What you offer : 

  • 3 years+ of experience in Finance or Accounting with a strong Retail background
  • Deep understanding of retail and franchise business 
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Experience with pivot tables, vlookups and other functions
  • Strong background in accounts receivable and collections
  • Fluency in written and spoken German and English
  • Ability to resolve problems with a resilient disposition
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal & written
  • High standards of customer service
  • Experience in Gaming Industry
  • Sound experience in people management responsibilities
  • Proactive and innovative work approach
  • Strategic thinking and analytical skills
  • Ability of adjusting to adapting to changes in a fast growing and international environment
  • Knowledge of NAV Dynamics and basic experience in SQL would be an asset
