To manage and inspire the team by creating a positive working environment, responsible for all aspects of financial management whilst developing and implementing financial procedures to improve and maintain the financial health of the Company.

 

Responsibilities:

 

This role will encompass 4 key areas:

 

1. Business Partnering with Operations

  • Supporting in development of strategy and the financial metrics
  • Preparation of annual plans and budgets for each company (Malta & Barcelona)
  • Monthly presentation of results, trends, drivers of revenue, gross profit and costs, cash flow and working capital management, capex and risks opportunities and plans to meet full year targets
  • Preparation of quarterly business reviews
  • Develop quality management presentations for the divisions for presentation to the Senior Management Team

2. Reporting and Controlling for finance operations

  • Providing a strong controlling environment in terms of transaction processing with efficient and effective reporting
  • Working with both finance teams in meeting group reporting requirements
  • Report on EBITDA and conversion of profit to cash on a monthly basis
  • Experience of reviewing Accounting & Management tools and software for best fit.

3. Transaction Processing

  • Manage the team providing high quality transaction support across the business
  • Provide cash flow forecasting and analysis of how to improve cash management
  • Foreign Exchange - ensure accounting is accurate and correct, ensure FX exposures are minimized across the group and proposals on FX management

4. Specialist services

  • Taxation - ensure EU entities meet VAT, payroll and corporate tax requirements
  • Capex - ensure budgets are understood and deliver returns
  • Team development – team in each entity are supported to required standards
  • Systems - maximize the use of the group systems to increase accuracy, relevance and speed of reporting
  • Processes - continuously seek process improvement to increase transparency, governance and enhance operational performance

 

Requirements:

 

  • The ideal candidate will be qualified (ACA / ACCA / CIMA)
  • Divisional and operational management experience, delivering high quality information to Senior Management Teams
  • Ability to manage a diverse range of businesses
  • The ability to work as part of the team – role your sleeves up approach
  • Mix of corporate and operational skills
  • Positive can-do attitude with a strong work ethic
  • Strong budgetary control exposure
  • Knowledge of product costing and the drivers affecting it
  • An understanding of commercial agreements
  • Contract negotiation experience
  • Self-motivated and proactive
  • Strong negotiating skills and ability to achieve objectives
  • The ability to develop creative approaches and solutions necessary to solve complex problems
  • Fluent in English (mother tongue preferred) along with Spanish would be advantageous
  • Experience of Spanish accounting would be advantageous
  • Excellent leadership skills in order to establish and maintain strong working relationship, with clear, fair and assertive communication skills
  • Must be prepared to roll up sleeves and get into the nitty gritty
  • Experience in an Agile environment would be an advantage
