The Legal Counsel is based in the firm’s London office and works alongside the Legal Counsel in Asia. The ideal candidate is a results-driven individual looking to grow with the business through commitment and high-quality work. The role is fundamental in the successful delivery of several projects across jurisdictions. 

 Responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • provide general legal and regulatory advice to a fast-growing business operating in multiple jurisdictions, with a focus on the UK and Europe
  • draft, review and negotiate a variety of commercial agreements, such as strategic partnerships, complex business deals
  • manage the implementation of internal policies and manage its data in compliance with applicable data protection and privacy laws including GDPR
  • manage all legal matters regarding the UK and European businesses
  • produce and maintain various agreements such as NDAs, customer/supplier contracts
  • advise on global projects considering legal and regulatory framework in the relevant jurisdictions (US and Australia)
  • highlight new legal and regulatory developments whilst considering their impact on the business
  • assist the development of departmental procedures and maintain appropriate internal controls
  • undertake international regulatory researches, contractual matters, regional data protection and privacy laws

 Required skills and qualifications:

  • qualified Solicitor/Lawyer in the UK, with 5+ years PQE in a leading law firm
  • in-house experience
  • deep understanding of the gaming industry and its related laws
  • ability to manage a high volume of work
  • ability to work autonomously and independently with minimal guidance
  • high level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • team player with a solid will to develop a career within a start-up
  • good presentation and negotiation skills
  • ability to work independently with minimal external support
  • ability to draft clear, professional and legally robust correspondence, advice, contractual documentation, policies and other documentation as required
  • excellent organisational, communication and computer skills

 

Salary

Negotiable
