Database Administrator London Up to £40,000 DBA required to join an international organisation within the Tourism sector supporting staff across 20 countries. You will undertake the design, construction, optimisation maintenance and support of all application databases and reporting software across the organisation. What you will be doing: Managing the day to day operation, security and safety of SQL, MySQL and Postgres databases and ensuring the smooth operation of backups, replication/mirroring processes and DTS processes. Developing and implementing strategies to optimise database performance and query performance. Providing technical support for organisations systems. Work with the IT teams to investigate and provide practical application/system solutions. Set up and create reports, using SQL Reporting Services and other reporting tools. Supply data extracts and encryptions assistance to the business upon request. Maintain an up to date knowledge of databases, SQL Reporting Services and programming technologies. Ideally, your skills will include: Good knowledge of SQL Servers and product sets including day to day management of production systems and SQL Server Enterprise Manager, Query Analyser, fluent Transact SQL and SSIS packages. Good understanding of SQL licensing of databases and environments. Installation and deployment of databases utilising SQL scripts Some experience of working with MySQL and Postgres databases and Python programming language. Creation of and maintenance of database backup plans. Manage database security. Data modelling – Creating the physical data model and modifying the model on an as-need basis. Knowledge and understanding of the concepts of Wide Area Networks, Windows client software, Active Directory and Windows Office Systems. Knowledge and experience of Finance (Coda preferred) HR and CRM systems, Microsoft Client/Server products, database support and optimisation. Excellent negotiating skills, conflict resolution, innovative problem solving skills, effective time management and a proactive approach to gaining knowledge and personal development.
